In the old slate-stone House nearby the Mosel it is already the fifth Genaration of the Clemens family wich lives from growing wine. Today it is Werner and Hildegard Clemens as well as Tanja and Andreas who run the business.
Andreas Clemens joint the winery in 2004. He studied winegrowing and winemaking in Geisenheim and gained experiences mainly in winerys in th Laguedoc region/ southern france.
The mayor grape variety in the vinyards is Riesling. The climate conditions are perfect for the requirements of Riesling. The steep slate slopes allows al long vegetation period. Slate accumulates the warmth of the day and gives it off during the night. The flagship wines are the dry Riesling wines “S” and “A”. A result from rigorous sorting of grapes from the bestvinyardslopes.
